Simon Larkin MW, managing director of Atlas Fine Wines, was recently quoted by Jane Anson on in an article on Château Pavie which appeared on Wine Searcher.
Pavie, perhaps more than any other property in Bordeaux, is well known for dividing the opinion of critics – most famously with high points from Robert Parker over the years and low ones from several European critics. Simon Larkin of London-based Atlas Fine Wines points out the geographical bias that was seen in the early days has lessened recently. "I think it enjoys a considerable U.S. following, as do various wines that Parker has singled out to champion. Having said that, I am intrigued by just how many U.K. critics appear to have mellowed on the topic since the 2003 spat in the press [when Jancis Robinson and Parker had a highly vocal disagreement over the style of the wine]."
